German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Russia is obliged to compensate Ukraine for the losses caused during the full-scale war, amounting to about €500 billion.
As Censor.NET informs , this was reported by Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the website of the Federal Government of Germany.
“Russia must compensate for this material damage. Until this happens, it will not and should not gain access to the frozen assets,” Merz emphasized.
According to the Chancellor, hundreds of billions of euros of Russian state assets, mostly located in European Union countries, will remain frozen. The proceeds from these assets will continue to be used to provide credit support to Ukraine.
