Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he will wait for Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin on Thursday, May 15, in Turkey, in person.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has agreed to hold talks in Turkey on Thursday, May 15, but only in person with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, he wrote on Telegram after US leader Donald Trump called for the meeting.

At the same time, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will also wait for the previously proposed complete ceasefire from May 12.

“We are expecting a ceasefire from tomorrow – complete and lasting, to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy. There is no point in prolonging the killings. And I will wait for Putin on Thursday in Turkey. Personally. I hope that this time the Russians will not look for reasons why they cannot,” the President of Ukraine wrote.

Updated . In an evening video address, Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is waiting for a “clear answer from Russia” regarding a ceasefire from May 12:

“Russia’s war will still have to end. The killings must end. Ukrainian forces will be ready to respond in a mirror manner – to be fair. We have repeatedly heard from partners that they are ready to strengthen sanctions against Russia if Putin refuses to cease fire. We’ll see.”

  1. The rat will not get his ass out of kremlin sewer and Zelenski knows that. He should call the gollum what he is: a coward and war criminal.
