Turkey is restricting the movement of commercial vessels in the Black Sea heading to Novorossiysk. According to Bloomberg , several vessels have already been denied transit permits to cross the Dardanelles Strait.

Sources told reporters that the restriction also applies to ships heading to Ukraine. No official explanation was given. But the authors noted that the decision is related to “growing concern of the Turkish government about the increasingly frequent attacks on Russian and Ukrainian ships in the area.” As well as on ships owned by Turkey.

It is noted that this decision effectively limits the flow of ships into the Black Sea. At the same time, the port of Novorossiysk is a key Russian center for oil and grain exports in this region.
