Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine – details
As UNIAN reported, today, July 10, the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine began in Rome. The conference is attended by leaders of other states, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor
Friedrich Merz, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof and others. In total, the event is attended by about 4,000 representatives of governments, businesses, and civil society. Among them are more than 100 heads of state and government and heads of international organizations.
The “coalition of the willing”, which was created in March 2025, has been joined by about 30 states. The leaders of the coalition are France and the United Kingdom. The coalition was created in connection with the position of the new US administration led by Donald Trump that Europe should take on the burden of supporting Ukraine in the war provoked by Russia. This coalition is entrusted with the prospect of launching a contingent of foreign forces to guarantee security in Ukraine when the war ends.
Recently, there have been reports that cracks have begun to appear in the relationship between French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, which threatens to split the “coalition of the willing” in support of Ukraine in the war .
