A Moscow oil refinery has suspended oil processing following a Ukrainian drone attack, Reuters reported , citing its sources.

It is noted that as a result of the fire, both primary processing units – AVT-6 and Euro+ – were damaged.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Gazpromneft-Moscow Oil Refinery in Moscow was attacked on September 20.

“The AVT-6 units, the integrated oil refining unit, and the isomerization unit were damaged,” the statement said.

It is also noted that as of September 21, 2026, following the destruction of the Moscow Oil Refinery, more than 45% of the design capacity of Russian oil refining was disabled.

“One of the consequences is a shortage of high-quality fuel in the Russian Federation. Among other things, there has been a sharp decline in the production of Euro-5/K5 gasoline and diesel fuel,” the General Staff noted.
