On Sunday, August 23, a Russian UAV hit a Lozova-Kharkiv train in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and five others were injured as a result of the attack by the enemy drone.

This was announced in a telegram by the Minister of Reconstruction, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine Mykola Kalashnyk, Censor.NET reports.

There are dead and wounded. 

“At the Lymanivka station in the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone hit the Lozova – Kharkiv electric train. Due to the threat of a UAV strike, the train was stopped early, and the passengers were evacuated. Most of them, along with the train crew, were at a safe distance from the railway infrastructure, but some people remained near the train. This had fatal consequences: a female passenger died from the impact and four more people were injured,” the government official said.

The minister emphasized that during evacuation, it is necessary to clearly follow the instructions of the railway workers and in no case remain near the rolling stock, as the enemy may strike again.

“Today, Russia attacked this electric train for the second time, already while rescuers were working. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” Kalashnik added.

Lozova City Mayor Serhiy Zelensky told “Public.Kharkiv” that another woman died as a result of the impact, she died in the hospital. A 34-year-old woman, who had 90% burns, died.

Her 11-year-old daughter also suffered burns.

“Her daughter has been stabilized, but she is in serious condition. What happens next will be determined by specialists. We are waiting for burn intensive care from Kharkiv. We are performing surgeries on two more people here, and two serious cases were sent to Kharkiv,” Zelensky said.
