On Sunday, November 23, Russian troops launched a massive attack on the city of Kharkiv using attack drones, Mayor Igor Terekhov reported on his Telegram channel .
Updated 11:29 PM: The death toll has risen to three. Terekhov also reported that Russia launched 15 strikes on Kharkiv at six locations.
Updated 22:55 : Terekhov reported that two people were already killed and eight were injured.
“According to preliminary information, which requires confirmation, there are already two dead and eight injured,” his statement reads.
“Kharkiv was attacked by an enemy combat drone. More strikes are possible – be careful!” Terekhov wrote in his first message.
He then added that several more strikes had hit the city, claiming it was a massive enemy attack. He also said that a private home had been hit.
“There is information about a private home being hit, and there are people injured,” the mayor of Kharkiv wrote.
Terekhov noted that, according to preliminary information that requires confirmation, there are one victim and several injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district as a result of an enemy Shahed missile hitting a private home.
At the same time, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Sinegubov, reported on his Telegram channel that the preliminary “arrival” of an enemy UAV in the Saltovsky district of Kharkiv had been recorded.
“One person was injured in Kharkiv as a result of an enemy drone attack. Medics are providing all necessary assistance,” Sinegubov reported.
He then added that a fire broke out in Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district as a result of enemy drone strikes, and the consequences are being investigated. Sinegubov noted that the State Emergency Service and medical personnel are working in an enhanced mode.
“At this moment, according to preliminary information, one person has been killed and five injured as a result of the enemy attack on Kharkiv. State Emergency Service units and medical personnel are working at the scene,” the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration said in a new statement.
