A rescue operation is currently underway.

The Russians attacked Sumy with two drones, hitting a civilian building. This was reported by the head of the Sumy OVA, Oleg Grigorov. 

“The Russians struck a civilian building in the central part of Sumy with two strike UAVs. A rescue operation is underway,” he noted.

Grigorov added that information about the victims and other consequences is being clarified.

He warned that the enemy attack on the city was continuing.

According to local Telegram channels, Russians have struck a kindergarten in Sumy. People may be trapped under the rubble. 

Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar confirmed that enemy UAVs hit the kindergarten building.

“Two UAVs were recorded hitting a kindergarten building in the central part of the city. Information about the victims and the extent of the damage is currently being clarified,” he said. 

Updated 18:22 . The State Emergency Service of Ukraine published a video on Telegram showing rescuers unblocking another body from under the rubble. 

“The death toll from the Russian strike on a kindergarten has increased to 2 people,” the report says. 

As the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleg Hrygorov, clarified , two employees of an educational institution in Sumy were killed as a result of a Russian strike on the building.

“These are women aged 48 and 45. My sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased,” Grigorov emphasized.
