Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

Russian occupiers struck Kyiv on the night of August 1. Currently, 9 people are known to have died, and the number of injured is growing. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

In Solomyanskyi district, two people were killed and 8 injured, including two people. At one address, a 5-story residential building was partially destroyed and caught fire, and at another, cars were burning in the parking lot. In total, three people were hospitalized, rescuers evacuated 35 people from the upper floors, and the fire was also extinguished. 

In Darnytsia district, a fire and destruction occurred in an administrative building and a non-residential building. At another address, cars burned and houses were damaged. In this area, 7 people died, 14 more were injured, including two children. 

“Rescuers extinguished the fires. A crater was also discovered in an open area in one of the squares. Along one street, several areas of the sidewalk are on fire,” the State Emergency Service added.

A fire broke out in a non-residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district and an ambulance caught fire. The fire was extinguished. One injured person was found at one of the addresses. In addition, a fire broke out on the territory of a film studio, which was localized.

“Dniprovsky district: a store was damaged. Pechersky district: 4 private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged. Rescuers and all relevant services are working on the ground. The information is being clarified,” the message noted.

Rescuers later reported that the number of injured in Kyiv had increased to 27 people, including four children. 

“Rescuers continue emergency and rescue operations at the crash sites. So far, 105 people have been rescued,” the report emphasized. 

The Russian army also attacked the Kyiv region, resulting in two people being injured.

“Currently, rescuers are extinguishing a fire at one of the industrial facilities in the Buchansky district. The information is being clarified,” the State Emergency Service noted . 

Updated 08:01. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that the number of victims has now increased to 28 people.

“There are 17 wounded in hospital wards. Doctors provided assistance to the others on an outpatient basis or on the spot,” he noted.
