A 19-year-old girl and her mother were killed as a result of a strike on a high-rise building in the Desnyansky district.

On the night of October 26, Russians launched drone strikes on Kyiv , which, according to confirmed reports, killed three people and caused damage to infrastructure.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this . “There are already 29 victims, including seven children. The youngest is four years old,” he detailed.

According to the mayor, seven victims, including two children, are currently being treated in city hospitals. The rest are receiving outpatient treatment.

Klitschko also added that dismantling of the structures in one of the buildings in the Desnyansky district is ongoing. The façade and floors between the sixth and eighth floors were damaged as a result of an enemy attack.

A resident of a damaged house in the Desnyansky district told reporters that a Russian drone killed a woman and her daughter next door, and he managed to flee the house after the strike.

Another resident of the building said that after the Russian drone strike, she and her 92-year-old mother waited on the balcony for rescue. The women soaked towels in water and breathed through them to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. According to the woman, three people in the building died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Meanwhile, rescuers continue emergency recovery operations following the Russian attack. According to Pavlo Petrov, a spokesman for the Kyiv State Emergency Service, there is no one under the rubble; rescuers are removing dangerous debris and installing special structures between the destroyed floors.

In addition, Interior Minister Igor Klimenko reported that in the first minutes after the strikes, rescuers saved more than a dozen people from the fire trap.

The minister detailed that among the dead were a 19-year-old girl and her 46-year-old mother, another body requires identification, 29 were injured, including seven children.

“Russia is targeting residential areas to harm as many civilians as possible. The enemy’s tactics are terror, and the goal is human pain and suffering,” he emphasized.
