Russia has imposed restrictions on the sale of diesel fuel since September 23.
As Censor.NET reports, citing the Russian Interfax, the St. Petersburg Exchange has introduced stricter rules for diesel fuel trading in an attempt to stop the rapid rise in prices. In particular, the price increase threshold and the number of bids from one bidder have been limited.

Similar measures were introduced for gasoline on September 8.
Russian analysts note that the purpose of such a step is to artificially restrain exchange prices for petroleum products.
In August, gasoline prices on the St. Petersburg Exchange reached a maximum, then fell slightly, but already in early September, prices went up again.
After the restrictions were introduced, gasoline price volatility decreased, but it no longer reflects the real market situation.
The agency’s interlocutors emphasize that administrative measures do not solve the problems with the deficit and only mask it.
Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries and export infrastructure have significantly disrupted the operation of Russian oil refineries.
