Russia is trying to take advantage of the weather, the president noted.

On the night of January 9, Russian invaders may launch another massive attack on Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced.

“There is information that there could be another massive Russian strike tonight. It’s crucial to pay attention to air raid sirens today and tomorrow, and to constantly seek shelter. The Russians remain resilient; they’re trying to take advantage of the weather,” the president said.

He also noted that the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions experienced an extremely challenging power outage following Russian attacks on infrastructure. According to the president, all necessary resources were deployed for restoration.

“Power was restored according to schedule in the Zaporizhia region this afternoon. Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Pavlohrad, and other cities and communities in the Dnipro region are still working. Unfortunately, there were further attacks today – specifically on the power sector and the civilian sector, and in Kryvyi Rih, on residential buildings,” Zelenskyy added.

On January 8, Russian occupiers launched ballistic missile attacks on apartment buildings in Kryvyi Rih. The attack resulted in injuries. Furthermore, the attack caused water supply problems in the city.

Energy expert Gennady Ryabtsev told UNIAN that the consequences of the Russian attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the duration of the power restoration will not be as severe as those in Odesa . According to the expert, the protection at the power facilities worked well and the main equipment suffered almost no damage.
