Budapest says they are not interested in Moscow’s position.
Hungary will block Ukraine’s accession to the EU despite the Kremlin’s public opposition to Ukraine’s European integration , Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page.
He stated, in particular, that the position of the Hungarian government “is not determined from abroad” and official Budapest “is not interested in what Moscow thinks” about Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
“We are interested in what the Hungarians think, and they have expressed their opinion: they do not want Ukraine to become a member of the EU! They do not want Ukrainians to destroy our farmers, our labor market and our security! We will not support Ukraine’s accession to the EU!” the Hungarian diplomat wrote.
