A fire broke out at the Yaroslavnaftoorgsintez oil refinery in Yaroslavl, Russia , owned by Slavneft. A video showing a large-scale fire at the plant was shared by Russian Telegram channels, including Astra .

The Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, Mikhail Yevraev, confirmed the fact of the fire, but emphasized that the cause was “man-made”, and not a drone strike.

“Residents were concerned that this could be the result of a hostile attack. But no UAV was recorded today,” he said.

Yaroslavnaftoorgsintez is the fifth largest oil refinery in Russia.

Previously, Russian refineries were repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian drones, which led to production shutdowns, disruptions in fuel supplies, and an increase in fuel prices.
