The Russians launched 175 drones and more than 14 cruise missiles over Kyiv and its surroundings.

At night, the Russians carried out a massive attack on Kyiv with drones and missiles , mostly residential buildings were hit, several dozen victims are already known, and their number may increase.

Updated 8:40 a.m. According to the head of the Kyiv MVA, Timur Tkachenko , the Russians launched 175 drones and more than 14 cruise missiles, including at least two ballistic missiles, over Kyiv and its environs. 

Currently, severe fires are being recorded on the eastern and western outskirts of the capital, and air quality has significantly deteriorated.Video of the day

According to official data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs , 14 people are currently known to have died and 60 injured in Kyiv.

Updated 8:00 a.m.  According to the mayor of the city, Vitaliy Klitschko, the number of victims has increased to 55, more than 40 people were taken to the city’s medical facilities.

In the Solomyanskyi district, in particular, rubble is being cleared from a residential building where an entire entrance has collapsed. According to rescuers and police, 14 people were killed.

Updated 7:00 a.m. According to the head of the KMVA, Timur Tkachenko, it is preliminary known that 14 people have died.

As reported by Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko , more than 40 people were injured as a result of the massive enemy attack in the capital. More than 30 of them were hospitalized. 

Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that as of now, 44 people were injured in Kyiv. 27 locations in different districts of Kyiv were under attack. 

As reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, damage was recorded at 12 locations in Solomyansky, Svyatoshynsky, Darnytsky, Dniprovsky, Podilsky, and Obolonsky districts.

A massive fire broke out in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv after the Russian attack, and the fire is being extinguished from a helicopter.

Later, Tkachenko reported that 18 people were injured in the Sviatoshynskyi district as a result of the attack on high-rise buildings. Of these, 12 people received assistance on the spot, 6 were hospitalized.

According to him, a fire broke out as a result of the impact on the 5-story building.

At another location, a multi-story building was partially destroyed by the impact. Rescuers are currently clearing the rubble and searching for people. Videos of the aftermath of the impact are being shared online.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko also reported that a 62-year-old US citizen died during the attack on Kyiv in the Solomianskyi district. This happened opposite the house where doctors were providing assistance to other victims of the shelling. Doctors confirmed biological death.

The dormitories of the Kyiv Aviation Institute were also damaged as a result of the attack. This was reported by the acting rector of the KAI, Kseniya Semenova.

“Everyone is alive, there are wounded. For the rest of the attack, everyone was sitting in shelter, there is a large bunker in these dormitories,” she said.

Russian attacks

Let us recall that last week, Russia massively terrorized Ukraine with air attacks.

Thus, in Kharkiv, three people died as a result of the strikes, and the number of injured  reached 64.  The Rivne region also experienced the largest  air attack  during the entire war. The main blow fell on the city of Dubno, where a military airfield is located.

Kyiv also came under attack, in particular, the main target was Obolon , where significant destruction was recorded.
