BREAKING NEWS: Musk said that speed restrictions in Starlink operations for Ukraine do not depend on him

Elon Musk said that he does not set the limits for Starshield, which Ukraine uses. This system is controlled by the US government, not SpaceX.

The billionaire wrote about this on the social network X in response to a post by former Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, Censor.NET reports .

Fedorov’s post

Fedorov previously reported that Starlink is being restored to speeds of up to 160 km/h. He also stressed that the complete lifting of the speed limit for Starshield is now critically important for Ukraine’s defense, and thanked Musk for his support.

Musk’s response

Musk responded that Starshield is owned by the US government and operated by Americans, so any speed or usage restrictions are decided by the US military and, ultimately, President Trump.

“Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government. Any speed or usage restrictions are determined by the US military and ultimately POTUS ,” he wrote.

Musk also noted that Starlink is a commercial service owned and operated by SpaceX.

“The use of Starlink is limited to civilian or defense activities and cannot be used for offensive military operations, as this would be inappropriate for a commercial company ,” Musk added. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n4028492
