US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg was not included in the delegation that went to the summit in Anchorage because the Russian side perceives him as someone who sympathizes with Ukraine.

As Censor.NET reports , this was reported by CNN, citing two high-ranking officials in the Trump administration.

“Keith Kellogg, a former general who is the Trump administration’s chief negotiator with the Ukrainians, is perceived by the Russian side as someone who is sympathetic to Ukraine, which could make his presence at the meeting ‘counterproductive,'” one of the officials noted.

Officials also reported that Kellogg shared all information about the negotiations with the Ukrainian side, with President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio. Therefore, his absence is supposedly “not a serious problem.”

At the same time, the European official stressed that Kellogg’s presence was expected there, “and he should have been there.” He added that the American delegation would lack the deep knowledge of the situation on the ground that the special envoy possesses.

However, Kellogg is expected to be included in the delegation that will travel to a potential future meeting between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia.

Recall that earlier the White House announced the composition of the US delegation that will participate in the negotiations between Donald Trump and dictator Putin.
