The primary oil refining unit is on fire – one of the key technological facilities of the enterprise.

The Security Service of Ukraine successfully struck the infrastructure of the Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez oil refinery, located over 1,500 km from Ukraine.

As reported by the SBU press service , Lukoil-Permnaftoorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation with a capacity of almost 13 million tons per year. It supplies fuel to both the civilian sector and the needs of the Russian army.

It is noted that the fire at the refinery broke out after the “arrival” of drones. According to preliminary data, the primary oil refining unit, one of the key technological facilities of the enterprise, is on fire.

“The destruction of such refineries is of strategic importance, because it is they who produce fuel for the military equipment, aviation, and logistics of the occupation army. In addition, the oil refining industry remains one of the main sources of revenue for the Russian Federation’s budget, which finances the war against Ukraine,” the report says.
