The National Police of Ukraine confirmed 20 cases of repatriation of the bodies of Russian military personnel that Russia transferred to the Ukrainian side in 2025.

This was announced by the First Deputy Head of the National Police, Georgy Tsutskiridze, Censor.NET reports with reference to RBC-Ukraine .

“We are taking DNA from these bodies without fail and assigning it to our databases for comparison. Considering that we have just started this work, I predict that this number will progress,” he noted.

According to Tsutskiridze, many bodies are being transferred without any identification marks, and DNA analysis results do not match Ukrainian databases. This gives reason to assume that the bodies belong to Russian servicemen.

The police also find personal items in the transferred bodies that indicate belonging to the Russian army : badges, military ID cards, passports, bank cards, uniform elements, and characteristic tattoos.
