BREAKING NEWS: Germany has no plans to transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine, – Pistorius

Despite previously announced promises, the German government, led by new Chancellor Friedrich Merz, is not considering the possibility of supplying long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said this in Kyiv at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,  Censor.NET reports .

In particular, Pistorius was asked whether the new German government was considering supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.

“You asked me the question, are we considering this? I answer you: no!” – replied the German Defense Minister.

Note that Taurus is a German guided missile with a range of up to 500 km and a warhead of 500 kg. They are an analogue of the British Storm Shadow and the French SCALP-EG, which are already used by the Ukrainian army.

The discussion about transferring Taurus to Ukraine has been going on for several years. Former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz rejected the idea, but the new leader Friedrich Merz has repeatedly stated that he is ready to do so. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n3557570
