Serviceman Dmytro Shapovalov, who was released from Russian captivity as part of an exchange on April 26, 2023, died in Vinnytsia Region.

This was reported by Yulia Pavlyuk, head of the Central Regional Center of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War,  Censor.NET reports .

“Unspeakable pain. The heart of the young hero, Dmytro Shapovalov, released from captivity, stopped. Sincere condolences to his family,” Pavlyuk wrote.

Farewell to the Ukrainian defender will take place on June 13 in the village of Yosypivka, Kozyatyn district.

The Coordination Headquarters did not specify the cause of Dmytro’s death.

Dmytro Shapovalov returned from Russian captivity during an exchange on April 26, 2023. At that time, the Coordination Headquarters released a video in which the released defender said that he had been dreaming of an apple for a year in captivity.
