German military planners expect that Russia could attack Europe, or at least be ready to do so, in 2029. By then, Berlin plans to completely re-equip the German army in accordance with the new defense strategy, Bundeswehr Procurement Directorate President Annette Leunigk-Emden told Tagesspiegel .
