The so-called “governor” of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, officially confirmed the attack by unknown drones.
Explosions rocked various parts of occupied Crimea on the morning of October 29, causing fires. At least one oil depot and, most likely, a military facility were attacked, according to the Telegram channel “Krymskiy Veter.”
According to the public, a powerful strike occurred in Gvardeysk at 6:46 a.m., setting fire to the ATAN oil depot, which had been attacked the previous day on October 17 and had been burning for several days.
Russians also complained about a fire near the State District Power Plant (GRES) in Simferopol. Later, Krymsky Veter reported that the Simferopol Thermal Power Plant (TPP), formerly known as the State District Power Plant (GRES), was on fire in the village of Gresovsky.
“The CHP plant’s electrical capacity is 100 MW, and its thermal capacity is 490.1 Gcal/h. Its annual electricity generation is 600 million kWh, and its heat output is 300,000 Gcal/h,” the publication added.
Telegram channel subscribers subsequently noted that it was not the thermal power plant that was burning in Simferopol, but an oil depot located nearby.
Attack on Crimea on October 29
Then, Crimean “governor” Sergei Aksyonov officially confirmed the attack by unknown UAVs. He wrote that in Simferopol, a drone had struck a container of fuel and lubricants, causing a fire.
The Crimean Wind audience also reported that the aircraft likely landed near the village of Krylovka, near the town of Mirny. The public page clarified that the former airfield in Mirny houses military equipment depots, and nearby are Russian air defense positions.
