The announced range of the new Ukrainian missile is up to 3,000 km.

Ukrainian company Fire Point is already assembling FP-5 ” Flamingo ” cruise missiles at a rate of up to 30 per month, and by October this figure should increase to 210 missiles per month. This is reported by the Associated Press .
For its part, the Defense Express portal notes that, as expected, the Flamingo missile is manufactured by the same company that produces the FP-1 long-range strike drone.
Also confirmed were assumptions about the “kinship” of the new missile with the model that Milanion Group presented at the IDEX-2025 exhibition in February 2025.
The photos and videos now presented show at least several finished FP-5 missiles that have already been installed on launchers, as well as several products that are in an advanced stage of completion of production.
FP-5 missile characteristics:
- range – 3000 km;
- maximum speed – 950 km/h;
- cruising speed – 850-900 km/h;
- maximum take-off weight – 6 tons;
- warhead weight – 1 t;
- Guidance system – satellite navigation and inertial.
The rocket has a fixed straight wing and an engine located above the fuselage. This design simplifies production. The disadvantage of the rocket may be a long pre-launch preparation time.
Flamingo rocket – latest news
Recall, President Volodymyr Zelensky recently announced the mass production of the Flamingo missile . He added that the Flamingo is the “most successful” missile that Ukraine already has. At the same time, today our country cannot yet use this weapon in large quantities.
According to former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ihor Romanenko, the first combat use of the Flamingo may take place this year .

That is great news for Ukraine.
I’d characterise it as more of an equaliser than a game-changer.
2000 Tomahawks would be a game-changer.
Biden didn’t have the guts to do that.
The likelihood of Krasnov sending them; even if paid for by Europe, is pretty low. Even though they have a substantial stockpile.
One assumes that this has been announced on the theory that it will offer leverage to the defenders in hypothetical negotiations?
If so, it seems unlikely.
Every putinaZi agent, fifth columnist, saboteur etc will be seeking the location now, so I hope that very full proof steps have already been taken.
Ukraine is a large country, but unfortunately Ukrainians only have access to 80% of it.
After Krasnov’s “forbidding” of Ukraine to take back Crimea, they should prioritise smashing the putler bridge; hopefully as a precursor to a retake operation.
Ukraine has the capabilities to boost their military with new toys, but corruption and political lazyness made Ukraine more dependent on foreign arms than necessary. Stopping to export any arms is also essential. All arms must be seized by the AFU.
I thought I read something about foreign countries funding Ukrainian weapons production in a scheme in which half the production would go to that country and half to Ukraine. Stopping the export would stop all the funding.
