The United States is ready to contain the likely military threat until the end of the procedure for countries to join the Alliance.
The United States promises to deter potential aggression against Finland and Sweden until they join NATO.

The American leader supported the decision of Finland and Sweden to join NATO and offered both countries protection in case of aggression before joining the Alliance.
“While their applications for NATO membership are being considered, the United States will work with Finland and Sweden to remain vigilant against any threats to our common security, and to deter and counter aggression or the threat of aggression,” he said.
Biden stressed that he was looking forward to meeting with the leaders of both countries – Finnish President Niinistö and Swedish Prime Minister Andersson. The visit is scheduled for May 19.

Sir Red although I liked many of Trump’s policies, I’m not prepared to think Trump would have been much different.
