Belarus sent a note of protest to Ukraine because of the white-red-white flag installed near the city hall of the Dnieper.

The embassy called it “a cynical manifestation of hostility towards the sovereign Belarusian nation” and “an act of state vandalism” by the Ukrainian authorities.
“Due to the fact that the mayor’s office of Dnipro did not respond to the appeal of Ambassador I. They demand the return of the flag of Belarus to its place, an official apology and an investigation.
Mayor of Dnipro Boris Filatov explained that local youth, using the participation budget, installed flagpoles with flags of national communities in the city hall.
He also noted that the white-red-white flag is not banned in Ukraine, “unlike Nazi and communist symbols.”
“Therefore, young people can hang any flags they want in the mayor’s office, even rainbow ones. This is their right. And the “power of the Dnieper” is not a decree for young people here. Because we live in a free country. to defend it. Although you probably won’t understand it for sure. Neither in Russia, nor in Belarus,” Filatov emphasized.
