The Security Service of Ukraine disrupted the special operation of the Russian special services , in which it was planned to use Ukrainian “titushki” for provocations in the Russian Federation.

This was reported by the press center of the SBU .

“The SBU exposed the citizens of Ukraine, who, on the instructions of the Russian special services, were to commit provocations against the population of the Russian Federation. Such actions could be used by the aggressor country as another reason to justify further pressure on Ukraine,” the report says.

The SBU found that the special services of the Russian Federation recruited three residents of the Kiev region who come from criminal circles. They were instructed to form two groups of five people each. Departure of the first was planned in the coming days.

They were promised $4,000 for participating in provocations.

“The curators assured the “titushki” that after the task was completed, they would be sent home. However, according to reports, they planned to exponentially liquidate the provocateurs during the detention,” the SBU notes.

It is indicated that the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine prevented this scenario – the organizers and their accomplices were simultaneously detained in Kiev and the region.

According to the SBU, these persons have already been repeatedly involved by pro-Russian forces to carry out provocations and custom-made protest actions in different regions of Ukraine. In particular, it was established that in October-December 2021, the attackers organized acts of vandalism over the monument to Stepan Bandera in Ternopil, over the Odessa synagogue and the foreign representation in Odessa.

It is also reported that one of the detainees created the so-called “power wing”, which included members of sports societies and representatives of the criminal environment. The group was tasked to take part in paid riots in the center of the capital at the end of January 2022 and provoke fights. However, then the law enforcement officers worked ahead of the curve and did not allow the implementation of such a plan.

As a result of authorized searches, firearms with cartridges were seized, copies of foreign passports of persons who were supposed to be sent to the Russian Federation to commit provocations.

As part of the criminal proceedings initiated under Art. 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, investigative actions are ongoing.

As UNIAN reported earlier, law enforcement officers detained an enemy agent in Kiev who was preparing a terrorist attack. A local resident was recruited by representatives of one of the Belarusian state structures.

And in the Kharkiv region, counterintelligence officers of the SBU exposed a local resident who was recruited by the Russian special services .
