ROMAN SHEREMETA
April 28, 2024
A russian male murdered two Ukrainians in Germany yesterday. Before, a russian couple killed a Ukrainian mother to kidnap her baby – in Germany. Before, two Ukrainian teenagers were stabbed in Germany out of anti-Ukrainian hate.
The civilized world, including the US and EU countries, has to ban all visas for russians. Period. It is an obvious security risk and plainly inhumane towards Ukrainians who after fleeing the war end up being killed by russians in Europe.
But what about those who may want to flee russia? First, those who wanted to flee already fled russia. Second, the legitimate asylum seekers can be allowed to cross the boarder without a visa.

One of the destroyed power plants after today’s russian missile attack. The sad part is that this could have been prevented if Ukraine had enough air defense systems. Ukraine needs air defences now and not in several years.

Heartbreaking footage: a dog under fire buries its dead puppy. The russian invasion of Ukraine has impacted not only people but also resulted in a severe crisis in animal care. Countless animals are suffering from lack of shelter and food. Despite the constant threat of shelling and occupation, brave Ukrainians are tirelessly working to save these animals.More than 1000 animals in frontline areas require serious treatment each month. The number of animals in shelters on frontline territories has increased by more than 100% and more than 500 shelters are in need of sponsorship. Providing food to these animals in Ukraine is an ongoing, never-ending need. That is why Ukrainian American House has partnered with Humane Society International to create a new Helping Paws program.Together, we have established a distribution network to move large quantities of pet food directly to the pet shelters who need it the most. By donating now, you can help the efforts of UA House: uahouse.org/donate

That’s not a solution. In Germany, it does take months, sometimes years, to establish whether an asylum application is legit or not. It would be a security risk to let them in for the waiting period. As I see it, those Russians who seek asylum in Germany should do that by applying at an embassy in a third country. It’s an inconvenience, sure, but asylum isn’t about getting pampered treatment and a red carpet rolled out. Refugees have to accept that there’s also vital interests of the host country involved, not only their own. 🤨

This is true. The cockroaches are not just bad for humans but for animals, too. They are generally bad for the entire planet.
Ukrainians are the complete opposite. I’ve seen many pictures and videos with AFU soldiers having adopted dogs and cats and, once, even a fox. Stas’ widow goes to the front region regularly to save animals there. Once, she even saved a young bat … brought it to Kyiv to help it regain strength.
