The Balaklava Thermal Power Plant was attacked in temporarily occupied Sevastopol on the evening of August 12, while a major water supply facility near the village of Shturmove, outside the city, caught fire.

“At around 22:50, during the attack on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant, a fire broke out at a major water supply facility near the village of Shturmove, outside Sevastopol. The water utility is on fire,” the report said.

The channel noted that a major municipal water distribution hub, No. 3 is located in Shturmove in Sevastopol’s Balaklava district and supplies water to the city.

Following a powerful explosion, the city was left without electricity.

It was also reported that fragments of a drone or missile, apparently caused by Russian air defenses, killed people in a car on a road near the power plant.

Russian-installed governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, confirmed an attack on an energy facility and urged residents to “conserve their phone batteries.”

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that Ukraine’s Defense Forces had struck a Russian ground-based relay station in Crimea used to control attack drones.
