Injured after a residential area was hit

As a result of the attack on the residential sector of Sumy, 9 people were injured, including two children, said the head of the OVA, Oleg Grigorov. 

“Preliminarily, their injuries are not serious. Everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance in hospitals,” the report says.

The enemy used a modified jet UAV, damaging civilian infrastructure.

Later, Kryvosheyenko reported that the number of victims in Sumy had increased.

“Currently, 13 people are known to have been injured as a result of Russian shelling of the residential sector of Sumy with modified jet UAVs,” the report says.

Among the injured are two 1.5-month-old babies. The children are in the hospital with their mothers, who are uninjured.

Among the victims are three men, ages 63, 45, and 88, and four women, ages 54, 43, 37, and 48.

All are hospitalized, being examined and receiving medical care.

Information about 4 more victims is being clarified.

As of 2:30 p.m., 18 people are known to have been injured as a result of the Russian strike, said Oleg Grigorov, head of the OVA.

“The most serious injuries were sustained by a 47-year-old woman. She was injured as a result of an impact near a high-rise building. She is currently under medical supervision. Two more children and two adults are also in hospitals.

“Other victims were provided with assistance on the spot or released home after examination,” the report says.

Grigorov noted that the strike was carried out by three UAVs. According to preliminary conclusions of experts, these were high-speed jet UAVs.

“They fly much faster than conventional strike drones, which makes it difficult to respond to such targets,” the OVA chief added.

Damage was recorded at seven addresses: multi-storey and private buildings, transport, and infrastructure facilities.

Morning attack

On the morning of June 27, as a result of a hostile drone attack, an open area of ​​terrain in the private sector of the Kovpakiv district of the city of Sumy was hit.

As a result of the impact, the roof and facade of the residential building were damaged, the window glazing was broken, and a passenger car was damaged.

In addition, falling debris from a drone caused a fire on the roof of a five-story residential building in the Zarechny district. The fire was quickly contained.
