One of the most vocal voices pushing to stop any aid to Ukraine is JD Vance from Ohio. The cost of this decision is the thousands of Ukrainians. But the truly said part about all of this is that many Ukrainians voted for him.
When I talked to these Ukrainians and told them that their decision would cost many Ukrainian lives, they simply said that this would not happen. They said that they liked the policies that JD Vance was standing for. Well, this is his policy – stopping any aid to Ukraine.
Anyone who voted for JD Vance is complicit in the death of thousands of Ukrainians. Now, these same people will vote for Trump believing that Trump will miraculously change his mind and help Ukraine. But the story will be the same as with JD Vance.

Another post from Roman from yesterday:
Ukraine showed one of best increases globally in 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index.
This year, Ukraine received 36 points out of 100 possible (3 points more than last year) and ranked 104th among 180 countries. Since the Revolution of Dignity, Ukraine has gained 11 points in the CPI over 10 years, the highest increase among current EU candidates.
Importantly, with only 25 points, russia is way behind Ukraine. Among EU member states, Hungary is the closest to Ukraine, with 42 points. Yet, they are the ones who constantly use the issue of corruption in Ukraine as an excuse not to provide aid to Ukraine.
That being said, Ukraine still has a long way to go. But it is constantly fighting corruption and improving year after year. The fact that we hear stories of SBU uncovering corruption schemes in Ukraine is actually a good thing. It shows that Ukraine is moving in the right direction.

“Hungary is the closest to Ukraine, with 42 points. Yet, they are the ones who constantly use the issue of corruption in Ukraine as an excuse not to provide aid to Ukraine.”
If you compare the trend since 2012 between Ukraine and Hungary. Hungary have slid from 55 down to 42, Ukraine have improved from 26 up to 36. Yet the Ukraine haters can only criticise Ukraine for it’s position, they choose to ignore the year on year improvement.
Perhaps MTG and her MAGA crowd would like to explain why the USA slid from a score of 75 in 2016, down to a score of 67 by 2020.
Even if the rise is remarkable, we are forced to note that Ukraine is still in a fairly mediocre position. It is reality.
However, I would like to draw a parallel between the fact that Ukraine is trying to make its way towards independence by fighting the Russian invasion and the fact of transforming its society towards a more transparent organization. These 2 actions work together.
The remnants of corruption, which are still present in Ukrainian society, are symbols of the system that was alienated by Russia/CCCP. This legacy comes from the breakup of the bloc and we cannot compare Ukraine’s situation on the corruption scale with other countries that are at its level. The story is special. Getting out of the clutches of the Bear means getting out of corruption.
