The bomber was shot down when he tried to attack the positions of the Armed Forces with guided aerial bombs.

Yesterday, March 1, around 09:00 in the eastern direction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an enemy Su-34 fighter-bomber was destroyed . 

As reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the plane tried to strike our positions with guided aerial bombs.

It is noted that this night the enemy attacked Ukraine with three Kh-59/Kh-35 guided air missiles from the occupied part of the Kherson and Donetsk regions and 17 “shahedas” from Primorsk-Akhtarsk of the Russian Federation and Balakleya of the occupied Crimea.

“Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in the repulse of the air attack. As a result of combat operations, 14 “shahed” were destroyed by air defense in the Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Unfortunately, as a result of the hits and falling debris in Odesa and Kharkiv regions are dead and injured. Condolences to relatives and friends,” the agency wrote.

Destruction of Russian aircraft

As the Ministry of Defense reported, in February the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down  13 Russian aircraft  – ten enemy Su-34 fighter-bombers, two Su-35 fighters and one A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft. 

At the same time, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine promises to strike more often the warplanes of the Russian invaders . They added that more means are appearing in Ukraine to get at the enemy on distant approaches .
