This day marks the remembrance of the horrific events in Ilovaisk.

👉 But also the Battle of Ilovaisk is a stark reminder of how much we can trust russian promises.

The Ilovaisk encirclement became one of the most devastating battles for the Ukrainian army during the war in Donbas. According to the latest data from the Military Prosecutor’s Office, 𝟑𝟔𝟔 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟒𝟐𝟗 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 in the Ilovaisk encirclement.

🚩This tragedy is the result of believing in russian promises: they assured us of a safe humanitarian corridor, but they broke their word. 🚩

Despite the agreement, when Ukrainian troops attempted to retreat, they were attacked by russian forces.

This betrayal of the “green corridor” agreement is a violation of military conduct and international law.

🙏 I hope this sacrifice will not be in vain.

I owe my life to the Ukrainian defenders who save our home every single day.

She’s one of the leading voices of Ukraine, a superwoman, and an incredible friend. Yana survived the Bucha massacre by hiding in a basement for 14 days, and she passionately shares her experiences as a student abroad, coming from a democratic country under attack by an imperialist, dictatorial regime.

Though she may be “petite” (yes, we share the same height!), Yana is truly a one-woman army. She meets with world leaders and tirelessly advocates for enhanced air defense to protect her homeland.

Yana is also the founder of DroneAid Collective, an inspiring NGO based in the Netherlands 🇳🇱🇺🇦. Every weekend, she collaborates with Ukrainian veterans, diaspora expats, and Dutch supporters to build drones, making a tangible impact in the fight for freedom.

I admire her strength, resilience, and dedication for brighter future for Ukraine!
