Explosions were heard in several Russian regions on the night of February 8.
Russians complained about “drone attacks.”

The targets for the strikes were, in particular, an oil transfer station in the Volgograd region, an oil pumping station in the Rostov region. Russian media also began publishing pitiful stories about the “strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on residential buildings” in Rostov-on-Don, as well as in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Territory.

On the morning of February 8, the Russian Defense Ministry published another cheerful “report” about the “repulsed terrorist attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” According to the so-called defense department, during the night, “36 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed and intercepted over the Rostov, Volgograd, Belgorod regions and over the Krasnodar Territory.” As usual, there was no word on the consequences.

But on the ground, they admit: “fragments” did visit the regions of the Russian Federation, not without consequences.

Thus, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, 18 UAVs were allegedly shot down over the Rostov region. Some Russian media outlets cautiously reported that the “shot down drones” attacked an oil pumping station in the suburb of Chertkovo, Rostov region.

“The administrative and household buildings of the enterprise were damaged. 6 employees were evacuated. Emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident,” some propagandists wrote, without going into much detail.

“UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attacking the village of Chertkovo. The main target is an intermediate oil pumping station, which is located 8 kilometers from the settlement. Local residents claim that at the moment there is no information about fires, destruction, or casualties,” others reported succinctly.

Russian propagandists paid much more attention to the explosions in the regional center, Rostov-on-Don. There, the Rostov regional governor “discredited the Russian army,” stating that the drones “shot down” by Russian air defense “attacked Rostov-on-Don.”

“As reported by Acting Governor Yuriy Slyusar, there is damage in Rostov after the attack. In the Pervomaisky district of Rostov, the glazing of several five-story buildings was damaged, and 68 residents were evacuated from one multi-story building,” one of the Russian media outlets writes.

According to Russian media, the attack began at 2:15 a.m. local time. Explosions were heard in the regional center at that time, and “one of the downed drones fell on Selmash.” Windows were damaged in 14 high-rise buildings, and the city administration is planning to hold an unscheduled meeting of the emergency commission.

In addition, the night in the Volgograd region turned out to be noisy. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, “11 UAVs were intercepted there.”

“A UAV attack was repelled at night on an oil processing station in the Kumilzhensky district of the Volgograd region, Governor Bocharov reported. There was no fire as a result of falling debris, there was no damage to residential buildings and there were no casualties,” Russian media quoted the official version of the consequences of the attack.

Russian sources also wrote that “several explosions were heard over Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Territory.”

“Local residents said that sounds similar to UAVs began to appear at around 02:40 in the morning – at least 5 loud explosions were heard and bright flashes were visible in the sky. The air defense system was activated against aerial targets. Emergency services arrived at the scene. Explosions were heard even in the villages of Gubernatorske (14 km from Sloviansk-na-Kuban) and Baranikovsk (10 km from the city),” writes one of the Russian publics.

Other propagandists decided to spread fear by reporting that “the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked residential buildings,” as a result of which “the falling debris damaged the roofs and broke windows in five houses.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that two drones were “shot down” over the Krasnodar Territory.

The fourth region over which Russian air defense shot down drones was named Belgorod Oblast. Five UAVs were allegedly “destroyed” there. However, neither the local authorities nor the Russian media have reported anything about the consequences of the attack.

As a reminder, on February 6, the General Staff confirmed the strike on the Primorsko-Akhtarsky airfield, from where the Russian Federation launched drones over Ukraine. The strikes on Russian military infrastructure were carried out by units of the Unmanned Systems Forces in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces.

Russia used this airfield to store, train, and launch Shahed attack drones into Ukrainian territory. The Russians also serviced aircraft there, which perform missions in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

  1. Nice! I hope another refinery will burn for days, and that other important targets were destroyed.

  2. “The administrative and household buildings of the enterprise were damaged. 6 employees were evacuated. Emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident,”

There was no accident. I can assure you it was a 100% deliberate act by Ukraine.

    • Maybe “accident” is the newest interpretation of drones striking their targets in mafia land. “Debris” has been worn out too much.
