Russian Telegram channels report an explosion at the Budyonny Military Academy of Communications on Tikhoretsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg on May 17.
“Presumably, she was attacked by a drone,” writes Baza .
It is noted that, according to preliminary data, seven people were injured, two of them are in serious condition (one is in intensive care). Emergency services are currently working at the scene of the explosion.

Other public pages write that at the moment the cause of the explosion is still unknown.
“The explosion occurred in the basement of the Military Academy of Communications building. The version of careless handling of ammunition and the planting of an explosive device are being considered,” writes the Cheka-OGPU.

As of 21:10, eight victims were reported.
Later, the Leningrad Military District stated that seven military personnel were injured in the explosion on the “economic territory” of the academy.
They stated that the cause of the explosion was the detonation of ammunition from the Second World War: “All victims were taken to a medical facility of the Ministry of Defense.”
