The war in Ukraine continues and the Ukrainian Armed Forces need a lot of ammunition. Almost two dozen countries have joined the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition , but not all of them have provided funds.

As Gazeta Wyborza writes , as of August, 18 countries outside the European Union have joined the search for ammunition for the Defence Forces. Currently, Germany is the largest and fastest donor.

At the same time, Poland, which also publicly joined the initiative, according to media reports, has not provided a single zloty. Thus, it is probably the only country that has not provided funds under the project.Video of the day

If everything goes according to plan, Ukraine will receive another 100,000 shells from the Czech Republic in September. This will allow Prague to get closer to its cherished goal – to find half a million shells of various calibers, primarily 155 mm, for the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the end of this year.

Czech Initiative – Ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Czechoslovak Group, which supplies ammunition to Ukraine under the Czech initiative , was forced to disclose some details of the supplies. For the first time, they disclosed one of the supplier countries and the price of one 155-mm shell. In particular, the Czechs confirmed that they are purchasing ammunition for Ukraine from Turkey.

NZZ notes that the Czech Republic is forced to curb its ambitions to supply shells to Ukraine. The Czech Foreign Minister said that the initial target would not be reached by more than a third unless partner countries contributed more funds. According to the Prague government, not all countries have paid yet, which is one of the reasons for the reduction in supplies.
