  1. Cool!
Refurbished WWII fighters would be a great tool to go after those drones, or any others as of a certain size.

Watching that Therminator ground drone sure gives you a Terminator feeling.

    • Hmm, too fast, too thirsty and to unreliable nowadays, with serious spare parts issues, imho. A better fit would be modern propeller driven light attack planes with machine guns on wingpods. Like the Tucano from Embraer, which sadly is a Brazilian product (which may pose political problems). To increase shoot down rates, those planes should get thermal and acozstic sensors, night sights, plus KI-based automatic gun adjustment. This could be an efficient way to close gaps in the ground based air defence network. 😎

      • Of course, my statement was not meant to be serious, Mr. Gray. Those planes are also too rare and valuable to be used for such things.

        • Yeah, those air race pilots and WWII collectors would demand millions for a flight-ready Mustang, Corsair, or Hellcat. Not to speak of necessary maintenance for combat missions. Probably more expensive than for a F-16. 😕

          • Equipping a sport plane with a couple of machines guns on the wings would be cool enough. It would suffice to give you a little of that WWII dogfight feeling.
