Major Watson is a brave individual who has a strong sense of righteousness. It’s just too bad that the former GOP is the opposite and is largely made up of corrupt and spineless cowards who are letting this criminal president do as he pleases, ruining our once-great nation. This major is doing what they should be doing.
I respectfully disagree. As a private citizen he’s entitled to speak his mind, however, once that uniform goes on he has no right to criticize the Commander and Chief (please keep in mind I’m no lover of Trump). I don’t believe politics should enter the armed forces. If you need to take political issues publicly, resign your commission and do as you’d like.
He swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. If the CiC is an enemy of the Constitution, isn’t it incumbent on the major to speak out?
Respectfully, No sir. The issues the Major was raising were strictly political. Read his placard. He was not discussing an illegal order, he just hates Trump, which is cool by me, but not in uniform. He does not have a legitimacy according to the constitution or the chain of command. Military personnel are not afforded, nor should they, criticize a legal order, which in my read, he was not protesting, simply he doesn’t like son of a bitch. Feelings are not part of military protocol. As I stated, he has every right to criticize Trump, but not in uniform. Think about it Larry, what would our military be if everyone decided to takes sides in the military?
An afterthought, during the Biden administration the military by and large majority hated Biden. That did not give the right for anyone in the military to disobey BIDEN’s Lawful commands
You cannot compare Biden with this bandit. Biden is not a criminal. He never started an illegal war, or had jackbooted thugs kill innocent American citizens on the streets, or brought such deep corruption into Washington, or made enemies of our friends, and made friends of our enemies.

Trump never gives legal orders. I hope that the generals and admirals will be prosecuted when we have a real president and a real Congress again for following his illegal orders.

Not many people know this fact, which got obscured through the ages, but one thing that turned Germany into a military might was a total restructuring of its General Staff and military doctrine. One important change was giving subordinates the right to disobey an order if that order is faulty for some reason. The incident would be investigated and if the subordinate was proven right, not a thing would be done against him for disobeying an order. Yes, the highly disciplined Germans had such a system. It gave them some important advantages over any other military teaching by allowing highly flexible order of battle, decisive execution of important maneuvers, and efficient use of assets.
This is just a brief history lesson to illustrate the shortcoming of our system that knows only blind obedience.
At any rate, I stated earlier that the Department of Defense does NOT prohibit service members from becoming involved in politics or social protests. If you wish, I can give you link to reputable source so you can convince yourself.
Final thought, Trump has not been adjudicated as violating his oath to the Constitution. So the major has no right to put himself about the procedures outlined in the constitution and hence putting himself above the US Constitution. I may hate the MOFO but until we properly judge him in Congress (ie impeachment then a trial) we got no where to go

That was his only mistake, but I’m sure he knew it, so it was a calculated move. Despite that, I still see him being a better citizen than what we have in the White House, some in the Supreme Court and many in Congress.
You should know the legislative branch is not the judicial branch. If the president has done something illegal, charge him and take him to court. Otherwise, just try to keep your panties out of a bunch 😉

I’m sure that’s possible while he’s president. The assholes in the Supreme Court made it virtually impossible to bring him to the courts. For those not familiar with the US Constitution, Congress is charged with adjudicating the President. First, the charges are prepared by Congress (Impeachment) then the trial is conducted in the Senate with the Chief Justice sitting as the judge of the proceedings. It requires super majority of the Senate to remove the President. Unfortunately no US President has been removed from office under the above procedures and the Supreme Court screwed the courts from taking action. The price we pay for being a democracy.

In the end if we give up the principles and discipline of being a democracy, we just turned into North Korea. You may not like the way the sausage is made but it sure tastes good. I’m absolutely a defender of democracy along with all its failings. It’s those failings that have made us stronger

Too many voices remaining mute in this country are quietly aiding the misdeeds of this criminal administration, especially from those who should be heard loud and clear.
