Russia launched nearly 100 drones at Ukraine this morning

Russia launched 99 attack drones at Ukraine since this morning, September 1. Most of them were shot down, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to the Air Force, 72 of the 99 drones launched were jet-powered.

As a result of air defense efforts, 82 attack drones were shot down or suppressed, including 57 jet-powered drones (79.17% of the total number of jet-powered drones launched).

As of 6:30 p.m. Kyiv time, 10 attack drones were detected in Ukrainian airspace. New groups of drones are also entering across the border. Ukrainians were urged not to ignore air raid alerts.

Jet-powered drones

Recently, Russia has increasingly used jet-powered drones to attack Ukraine. One of the main targets of the attacks is infrastructure in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Against this backdrop, air raid alerts are being issued constantly in the capital.

In August alone, Russian forces launched 2,800 jet-powered drones at Ukraine. Russia increased their use toward the end of the month.

For now, Ukrainian forces are finding it difficult to deal with these drones, and expensive interceptor missiles are being used to destroy them.
