The Minister of Defense of France spoke about the expansion of the training program for the Ukrainian military.

France will provide Ukraine with air defense systems and expand the training program for the Ukrainian military.

According to Radio Liberty , this was stated by French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu in an interview with Le Parisien.

It is noted that up to 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers will be stationed in military units in France, alternating for several weeks of combat training, more specialized training in logistics and other needs, as well as for training on equipment supplied by France.

“We take into account the fact that the war, unfortunately, will continue. The new generation of soldiers must also be trained to keep the distance,” the minister said.

At the end of May, it became known that the Ukrainian army had already received and was using on the front line 12 French self-propelled 155-mm Caesar artillery mounts, which can hit the enemy with high accuracy at a distance of 20 km or more. The maximum firing range of these gun mounts is 42 km, they are capable of firing six shots per minute.

Later it was reported that the Ukrainian army would receive an additional batch of these self-propelled gun mounts .

It is worth noting that after the Russian Federation launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine on October 10, which killed 20 people , US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin promised that Ukraine would receive new air defense systems as soon as possible.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 13, Ukraine and France signed an agreement on providing Ukraine with grants in the security and defense sector.

As Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov noted, the agreement allows France to supply weapons to Ukraine in accordance with the initiative of Presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron.
