While repelling the attack, Russian air defenses shelled a bank building nearby.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the headquarters of the Air Force of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, located in occupied Sevastopol . This was reported by the pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” .

“In Sevastopol, the building of the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Air Force on Gogol Street was hit, the subscriber reports. As we previously reported, after the destruction of the main headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, the Air Force headquarters is being used as the location of the main management body,” the public wrote.

The Kremlin-appointed occupation “governor” of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, confirmed the strikes on the city.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the city with various air assets, previously with Storm Shadow missiles,” he said.

According to Razvozhaev, the missile strikes in the city damaged a bank building and “an administrative building that had not been used for a long time” on Gogol Street.

However, “Crimean Wind”, citing subscribers , claims that the bank building was hit by a missile from the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun complex. At the same time, the building of the Black Sea Fleet Air Force Headquarters was also hit and burned down almost completely.

“There are a lot of Russian soldiers, everything is blocked, there was a military SUV “Tiger”, a satellite dish was also deployed. Ambulances were still running at 11 o’clock. In the courtyard of the headquarters in “Ural” they were putting up black bags, large ones. Either things/documents, or those who were in the building at the time of the hit,” the public writes.

Headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol

As UNIAN reported, on September 22, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile strike on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Sevastopol. After the explosions, a large-scale fire broke out in the building, and the Russian authorities were forced to admit the fact of the attack, although they initially announced only one serviceman who “went missing”. According to Ukrainian intelligence and the Special Operations Forces, the strike occurred at the time of a meeting of the fleet’s leadership, which led to significant losses among Russian officers.

The SSO reported that 34 Russian officers were killed in the strike, including the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Viktor Sokolov, and over 100 more occupants were injured. It later emerged that at least Sokolov remained alive and relatively unharmed.

However, the strike weakened the potential of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea . After the attack, the headquarters actually ceased to function in full mode, and part of the command structures of the occupiers were forced to transfer to Novorossiysk. In 2026, it became known that the damaged building of the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol began to be dismantled due to large-scale destruction.
