Alice Weidel, co-chair of the far-right Alternative for Germany party , has called on Berlin to reach an agreement with Moscow on the supply of diesel fuel, oil and gas, building on Donald Trump’s “diesel deal”. She also believes that Ukraine has “already lost the war” and that it is wrong to continue financing it,

She stated this in an interview with The Economist, Censor.NET reports .

“Diesel deal” for Germany

According to Weidel, her party wants a “diesel deal for Germany”: that Russian gas and oil benefit German consumers and companies.

“We in the AfD want diesel supplies, a diesel deal for Germany. We want natural gas and oil from Russia to benefit German consumers and German companies ,” she said.

She criticized the German government for supporting Ukraine and the EU’s sanctions policy, arguing that European countries are harming their own economies and public finances by doing so.

Weidel noted that while Berlin approves new restrictions against Russia, Washington and Moscow are negotiating fuel supplies and other deals that are beneficial to both sides.

The AfD leader called for a stop to spending “German taxpayers’ money” on aid to Ukraine.

“Not even 10% of Germans support further aid to Ukraine. Or, in other words, 90% of Germans oppose further burning of German taxpayers’ money in Ukraine. Act accordingly ,” she said.

Weidel stated that Ukraine has allegedly already lost the war with Russia, and continuing its funding is a mistake.

“This creates a huge risk for our country, and I think it is wrong to continue funding an already lost war. Ukraine, unfortunately, is simply too small. Ukraine cannot defeat Russia. It is impossible ,” she stressed.
