A plane crash occurred in the Khmelnytskyi region . The crew of a Su-24M frontline bomber died at the scene, the Ukrainian Air Force reported  .

The crash occurred on June 16 at approximately 7:00 PM. It involved a Su-24M frontline bomber from the 7th Petro Franko Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the pilot and navigator were on a mission in the Khmelnytskyi region.

“Unfortunately, both pilots were killed. We express our sincere condolences to the families of Major Bogdan Grigorievich Zagarulko and Senior Lieutenant Bogdan Aleksandrovich Babenko; they defended our country until their last breath,” the statement read.

The Ukrainian Air Force noted that rescuers and law enforcement are working at the crash site. According to preliminary information, there are no civilian casualties.

“The causes and circumstances of the crash are being established,” the Ukrainian Air Force added.
