On the morning of September 4, explosions were heard in Bashkortostan, Russia. After them, a fire broke out in Sterlitamak.

The Sterlitamak petrochemical plant is reported to have been damaged. Footage from the scene was collected by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

The attack on Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan (Russia) was reported to Exilenova+ at around 6 a.m. Kyiv time.

“Locals report that the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant is on fire,” they clarified there a few minutes later.

JSC “Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant” (JSC “SNHZ” ) specializes in the production of rubbers, ionol and aviation gasoline.

The company’s products are critically important for stabilizing fuels, plastics, rubbers, and meeting the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex.

Since January 2023, SNHZ has been part of the Roschem group of companies, the governing body of a group of large Russian chemical enterprises united in production cooperatives, which are part of the petrochemical, soda, chlor-alkali, titanium and agrochemical clusters. The chairman of the board of directors of this group is Igor Rotenberg, the son of Arkady Rotenberg, the closest friend and associate of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin .

The plant has been attacked before. In November 2025 and April 2026, it was attacked by Ukrainian drones: fires and destruction were recorded in the company’s workshops.

Meanwhile, the Telegram channel Supernova+ claimed that another company located in the same city was hit.

“The Avangard FCP was attacked. The main area of ​​activity is the production of explosives, ammunition, and specialized packaging within the framework of a state defense order,” the message said.

As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of September 4, the Defense Forces also struck a Russian air defense division and an oil depot in Sochi. Fires broke out at the sites of the hits.

In addition, the port in Sochi was attacked the day before.
