In the end, it became obvious that the borders of Russia are protected not by the Russian army, but by the Prime Minister of Great Britain and the President of the United States, says the observer.

The successful invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region of Russia humiliated not only the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but also Ukraine’s Western allies, who are forcing it to fight with its hands tied behind its back. This opinion was expressed by the retired colonel of the British army, Richard Kemp, in an author’s article for The Telegraph .

“This bold step (offensive in the Kursk region – UNIAN) exposes the cowardice of Ukraine’s allies. Putin told his officials: ‘The West is fighting us with the hands of Ukrainians.’ . 

He noted that Britain’s Storm Shadow cruise missiles could significantly strengthen the UAF in this battle, delivering lethal blows to Russian reinforcements on the march. But the British government does not give permission for this. Just as the USA still prohibits the use of ATACMS missiles for attacks on the Russian Federation.

Kemp compares the existence of this ban to an absurd situation: if, during the Second World War, Winston Churchill had forbidden British and American planes to bomb Germany.

“It was a sad story throughout the war, when the Western allies made policies not on the basis of the vital defense needs of Ukraine, but on the groundless fear of Russian revenge,” writes the retired colonel, calling every step of the West in supporting Ukraine “reluctant, half-hearted, inadequate and gripped by fear”.

Kemp emphasized that Ukraine’s sensational success in Kurshchyna became possible only because Russia left the border almost bare, directing all its forces into Ukraine itself. 

“How can this be in a country that is at war with its neighbor? This was possible only because Putin knew that his territory remained virtually invulnerable to attack due to Western restrictions on the use of Ukrainian weapons. (…) The reality is that timidity The West was defending Russian territory,” the military analyst writes.

The colonel emphasizes that Ukraine already controls more than a thousand square kilometers of “holy sanctuaries of Russia”, but nuclear missiles have not yet fallen on Kyiv. 

“The truth is that if Ukraine had been allowed to escalate from the beginning, it could have already brought the war to an end on favorable terms for Kyiv. Time will tell whether it is too late for that, or whether this audacious attack could be a turning point,” – he summarizes.
