A matter of honour and a duty

Garry Kasparov is one of the very few voices of reason in these crazy times:

In response to the question of whether we are “calling to fight until the last Ukrainian” when we say that Trump’s “peace deal” will not lead to real peace: we are not suggesting anything to Ukrainians at all — we have no moral right to do so, and this has been our position since the very beginning of the war.

One way or another, we represent Russia.
We bear-albeit to different extents-historical responsibility for the monstrous crimes that Russia is committing in Ukraine. Even though we live abroad, we have preserved our connection to our country, and therefore the shadow of Russia’s crimes inevitably falls upon us. These crimes are being committed also in our name.

We, the Free Russia Forum and our like-minded colleagues, are obliged to support Ukraine, because Ukraine’s victory is a victory of the forces of freedom over the forces of tyranny in a global war. Moreover, it is the only chance for our country to find its way back into the civilized world. There is no guarantee that this will succeed — but without Ukraine’s victory, it would be absolutely impossible. The Ukrainian flag over Sevastopol is the only chance for a future free Russia. On this point, we fundamentally disagree with many members of the Russian anti-Putin opposition.

We can analyze the situation, but we certainly cannot advise Ukrainians on what to do — nor do they need our advice. Ukraine is a democratic country. The word Maidan has entered many languages as a symbol of feedback between society and government. President Zelenskyy is not a dictator. He is a president who, even during wartime, understands perfectly well that he cannot unilaterally — or with only his closest circle — decide the future of Ukrainian territories or Ukrainian statehood.

Ukrainians will decide on their own, without us. Our role is to support them. Based on what I see and hear when speaking with Ukrainians, they do not intend to surrender. Accordingly, we support them and help in every way we can. For us, this is both a matter of honor and a duty — including to the future of Russia.

Kasparov is the true voice of russian opposition.

Which is why most of the “russian opposition” (AKA career grifters) ignores him entirely.

……………….

From Los Angeles to Boston, demonstrations were held this weekend in U.S. cities in support of Ukraine — calling to reject any deals that would reward the Kremlin or force Ukraine to accept Moscow’s demands.

……………..:.

This is treason!

When an American businessman begins whispering to Kremlin officials that Ukraine must cede its land to appease Putin — that is not diplomacy. That is treason.

According to the leaked call transcript reported by Bloomberg, Steve Witkoff told a senior Russian official that Ukraine should “participate in land swaps” and hinted that the deal could be sold as “achievable and optimistic.” Witkoff made sure that Putin gets what he wants.

This isn’t just moral blindness. This is the active undermining of U.S. credibility, Western unity, and Ukraine’s right to exist as a sovereign nation.

Here are some quotes of Witkoff:

  • “Russia must retain control over parts of Donetsk.”
  • “We can win messaging if it looks forward-looking.”
  • “Ukraine should participate in land swaps.”
  • “The deal could be framed as achievable and optimistic.”

Land swaps?
Tell that to the families murdered in Bucha. To the women tortured in Olenivka. To the deported Ukrainian children Russia refuses to return.

Messaging?
Tell that to frontline soldiers fighting for their lives every day.

While Russian missiles rain down on Ukrainian cities, a U.S. citizen is negotiating away Ukrainian land behind closed doors — not with Ukraine, but with the Kremlin.

That is not diplomacy. It is collaboration. It is treason.

And it puts American interests, global security, and millions of Ukrainian lives at risk.

………………..,

And to finish on a very tragic note :

These six children were murdered by russians in Ternopil last week.

And yet, the U.S. administration wants to reward this russian aggression by pressuring Ukraine to surrender.
