The decision was a response to Tehran’s provision of ballistic missiles to Russia.

France, Germany and Great Britain plan to cancel bilateral agreements with Iran on air traffic. This is reported by The Guardian .

In a joint statement of the countries, it is noted that the governments of these countries took the appropriate decision due to Iran’s export of ballistic missiles to Russia, calling it a “direct threat to European security.” Countries will also seek to impose sanctions on Iran Air.

“The governments of France, Germany and Great Britain strongly condemn Iran’s export and Russia’s purchase of Iranian ballistic missiles. This is a further escalation of Iran’s military support for Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine, and Iranian missiles will reach European soil, increasing the suffering of the Ukrainian people. This act is an escalation of both on the part of Iran and Russia and is a direct threat to European security,” the statement said.

The countries recall that they announced their intention to apply appropriate measures against Iran.

“We now have confirmation that Iran has made these transfers. We will take immediate action to cancel bilateral air travel agreements with Iran. In addition, we will seek the identification of key organizations and individuals involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program and the transfer of ballistic missiles and other Russia’s weapons. … We call on Iran to immediately stop any support for Russia’s war against Ukraine and stop the development and transfer of its ballistic missiles,” the countries said.
