The number of dead soldiers who were taken out of Krynki and buried is significantly less – we are talking about 262 defenders.

From October 2023 to the end of June 2024, 788 Ukrainian servicemen went missing in Krynki, Kherson region. This is reported by “Slidstvo.Info”.

“The police managed to find out how many Ukrainian soldiers went missing in one village, Krynki, Kherson region, on the left bank of the Dnieper. 788 men are being sought as officially missing there between October 2023 and the end of June 2024. At the same time, the number of dead soldiers who were taken out and eventually buried is significantly less – 262 defenders during this period,” the article says .

The commander of the airborne assault company of one of the battalions of the 35th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which fought and continues to carry out operations on the Dnipro, named Denis, emphasizes that the defense and expansion of the bridgehead on Krynki was a necessary task. Otherwise, the Russians themselves would have tried to land on the right bank by boat.

It is noted that the Western Osinter Naalsio , which has been recording confirmed cases of destroyed equipment since the beginning of the full-scale war, calculated that the losses of Ukrainian equipment in Krynki from the beginning of the campaign until June 14, 2024 amounted to 58 units. Meanwhile, the Russians lost 271 units.

“Artillery, and above all drones, played a major role in these defeats. But the Marines, like no one else, showed the greatest heroism and fortitude in holding this patch of land on the left bank of the Dnipro. But they also paid a high price,” the publication writes.

Marines in conversations with journalists of “Slidstvo.Info” repeatedly said that the occupiers do not take prisoners in Krynki. However, the names of those who disappeared there are still found in the exchange lists and in the reports of captivity.

Fights in Krynki

The operation to hold and expand the bridgehead in Krynki, Kherson Oblast, lasted several months. During this time, the Russians completely destroyed this settlement.

On July 16, the media, citing a source in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, wrote that Ukrainian troops were forced to retreat from the village of Krynki , which is located in the Kherson region on the left bank of the Dnipro.

It was noted that in Krynki the fighting had shifted to the islands. There was no point in holding the line in the settlement due to the large-scale destruction of buildings and shelters.
