The war in Ukraine: EU support

The countries of the European Union have supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, which took place on February 24.

During this time, the EU introduced eight packages of sanctions against Russia . The ninth is currently being discussed . As of November 18, 2022, the EU has frozen  68 billion euros of Russian assets .

In addition, at the end of May 2022, EU leaders agreed to introduce a  ban on the export of Russian oil . On December 3, the Council of the European Union  decided to set the maximum price for oil exported from Russia at the level of 60 US dollars per barrel.

  1. Impressive numbers. I expect the higher numbers are similar in the States. I hope the politicians pay heed to these numbers because there are some countries not representing their citizens very well. Most notably our friends from Finland because their government could do more to help Ukraine fend off the 21st century nazis. Greece and Bulgaria are just embarrassing.
