As a result of the armed aggression of the invaders in the city of Irpen, Kiev region, 50% of the buildings were destroyed.

This was announced during the telethon by the mayor of Irpin Alexander Markushin.

“The main task now is to collect our residents who died. There are up to about 200 of them. We will bury them. We will inform relatives about them,” he said.

Also, added Markushin, it is necessary to remove the rubble and the streets. “Of course, we will now ask many people to help us with technology, help with human resources … Unfortunately, 50% of the city has been destroyed. It takes a lot of time and work to restore it. We are in contact with all utilities, everyone they are already beginning to gradually gather and will repair critical infrastructure,” he said.

The mayor also said that patrols are working in the city to identify looters. “All marauders will remove rubble, clear the streets and answer before the law,” he added.

According to Markushin, there are now up to 4,000 inhabitants left in Irpin.

“I urge them not to return yet, because there are no communications, water, electricity, gas, sewerage is not working and rubble must be removed from the streets. shells were scattered, which did not explode,” he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 28, the city of Irpin in the Kiev region was liberated from Russian troops. 

According to the head of the Humanitarian Headquarters of the Kyiv region Oleksiy Kuleba, the occupiers destroyed infrastructure facilities in the territories of 35 communities of the Kyiv region.
